Relocating to the capital for schooling, Clinton continued performing with various local bands until discovering the bass guitar under the mentorship of Haitian musical legends Boulo Valcourt and Dadou Pasquet. Recognizing his vocal prowess, Clinton focused on honing his singing skills. In 1994, a chance meeting with a music-passionate doctor in Petion-Ville led to the creation of Trak, Haiti's first live salsa ensemble. Collaborating with musicians across the capital, Clinton Benoit released the acclaimed album "Anacaona" in 1998, gaining widespread recognition for their distinctive Latin flair. Clinton later collaborated with Mizik-Mizik, contributing to their final album before parting ways during their 2000 tour in New York City. After an enticing offer, Clinton joined Miami-based D'zine as lead vocalist, resulting in the hit album "Zanmi" and the famous track "Si Jamais." Upon the end of his contract, Clinton returned to New York City, where he joined the renowned Band Phantoms. In 2014, he collaborated with Dola Mizik on an album featured in The New York Times. Taking a hiatus to focus on his future, Clinton toured with his favorite bands, Tabou Combo and Magnum Band, and made memorable appearances with Zeklè. Reflecting on these experiences as the most rewarding of his career, Clinton now concentrates on his Kreyol Alternative and other selective projects, eagerly anticipating sharing them with his fans as they come to fruition.
