Clinton Benoit wrote this song a few years ago, but he decided to add some colors to it last year. So, he brought in Romanti, one of the best Merengue producers in NYC.

The super talented Kreyol Alternative's original female vocalist and piano player, Meridith Augustine, with Clinton Benoit in the frontline. In the back is our keyboard player and producer, Jeanmax Valcourt with the horns section on the set at the Complete Studio in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York, during Tante Nini's video shoot.
That was the scene at Sob's during the Respect to Zekle night by Kreyol Alternative in 2017. Here we are! Up front is Clinton Benoit with the legendary guitar player Ti Claude Marcelin of Zeklè and the talented guitar player Makarios Cesaire. In the back is the saxophonist Michael Johnson, Kurt Maccum the trumpet player, and the legendary bass player Boby Raymond.
Kreyol Alternative is a joint project that was put together to advance Haitian Music. We carefully selected musicians based on their performance and experience because our style requires a lot of musical mastery. The class has progressively imposed itself and has gained a reputation in the New York community.
Changing the traditional way of playing Compas Direct has always been the goal of Clinton Benoit. The Funky Konpa project possesses a hefty spirit that can bring any audience to their feet. It moves away from hardcore Compas Direct to embrace a less heavy bass style as moody and percussive.
